17 dead in Florida…it’s time for America to deal with its own war. With itself.
Here we go. Again.
17 dead. Florida. Tragedy.
An angry young man with access to assault weapons
A president and administration (and not just this one…ALL OF THE PAST as well) who are hog-tied to a willful misinterpretation of the Constitution and a politically powerful lobby group in the NRA.
When will we stop writing about this?
About the weakness and inaction and ugly war that America is caught up in with itself?
America is the the land of freely killing at will.
How many more deaths America?
What will it take to stop the carnage that has become commonplace?
Australia endured the worst massacre in history at Port Arthur and our government went into action immediately. We have since not had anything of the magnitude of that black day in our history.
The same cannot be said of the USA.
The land of the free?
I think not.
America is the the land of freely killing at will.
The right to bear arms?
No.
The right to do harm.
If Donald Trump is truly serious about stamping himself into the annals of history, and becoming famous and remembered and a hero and the bigliest, greatest most amazing President in living memory, he will change the gun laws.
Appeal to his ego, friends in America, and push him to do something.
And for those who might argue that me, as an Australian, should mind my own business, as I’ve had levelled at me before.
America has MADE this our business. We go through it with you. We mourn with you, hurt with you, and we stand by you.
My thoughts go out to the families of the dead and the victims.
My thoughts go out to all the people who still carry holes in their lives from past massacres.
My thoughts go out to those fighting to get something serious done about this ever unfolding disaster of violence and horror.
This war that America is at with itself.
